Next stage of procurement begins for The Ottawa Hospital’s new campus

The Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a design and development team for a state-of-the-art new hospital in central Ottawa has closed.  

The Ottawa Hospital is on track to deliver one of Canada’s largest acute-care teaching hospitals: a modern, accessible and technologically advanced health-care facility and academic research centre where we will tackle the most complex injuries and illness, train the next generation of health-care workers, and advance life-changing research, innovation and academic excellence.

The new hospital will support the delivery of health care to Ottawa and the Eastern Ontario region, Western Quebec, and Nunavut. It will provide a full range of specialized programs and outpatient clinics with plans to integrate Indigenous health and healing practices.  

Infrastructure Ontario and The Ottawa Hospital will evaluate the RFP submission(s) and a development partner is expected to be announced in early 2024.  

Infrastructure Ontario, The Ottawa Hospital and the development partner will then enter into a Development Phase, during which all three organizations will work together to further refine the project and complete the design.

The Request for Proposals was issued on November 29, 2022.
